Mr. Dhundiraj Govind Phalke is kwon as Mr. Dadasaheb Phalke was an Indian director, screenwriter and producer form 1870 to 1944. He is father of Indian Cinema. He made India’s first full length movie called Raja harishchandra in 1913.

He has made many movies in his life time, 95 movies, 26 short films in his life time. Many historical hit movies.

In 1969, The Dadasaheb Phalke Award for life time contribution to cinema was instituted in his honour by the Government of India. The Dadasaheb Phalke Academy was intoroduced a award in his honor in the year 2001 for lifetime achievement in Indian Cenema

Information and Broadcasting Minister Mr. Venkaiah Naidu approved the recommendation by Dadasaheb Phalke Award comittee to filmmaker and actor Mr. Kasinathuni Viswanath for the year 2016.

The award is consists of Golden Lotus, Ten lacs cash prize and a Shawl. This will be given by the President of India in Vigyan Bhawan funtion which will be held by 3rd May 2017.

Mr. K Viswanth was born on 19th Feb 1930, 87 years old. He is in this field since 1950s more than 6 decades. he has made many movies so far. He speaks Tamil, Telugu and English.
